Job Title: Proposal Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn and adhere to all ISO processes and procedures.

Collaborate with Sales Managers to sell products and services, leveraging technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to develop technical proposals.

Develop innovative solutions upon receipt of the Request for Quotation, ensuring they meet customer requirements. Lead negotiations with customers, identify and agree on technical requirements, and finalize signed contracts.

Meet Sales and Technical targets while adhering to corporate guidelines for price/margin, schedule, and design accuracy.


Sales Contacts:

Assist Sales Managers in preparing presentations, qualification documents, and sales materials for potential customers.

Stay updated on market research to identify current and potential customer needs and develop effective applications of products and services.

If applicable, suggest product improvements directly to Sales Managers.

Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers' technical and manufacturing needs.

Promote the Client's Group to potential customers and projects to employees, customers, and internal suppliers.


Sales Process:

Collaborate with Sales Managers in the development of quotations for HRSG and OTB.

Analyze technical specifications of tenders and define equipment and services.

Prepare and assemble the technical offer, including defining Performances and Guarantees, Scope of Supply and Services, verification of Overall Layout and Process P&ID, and defining Technical Clarifications and Deviations.

Coordinate and manage bid preparation and strategy activities with relevant departments to optimize technical aspects, estimating, scheduling, and risk management.

Validate Weights and Costs in conjunction with the Estimating department.

Assure the quality of proposals, identify and manage risks and opportunities, and define mitigation and avoidance strategies.

Provide general assistance for the development and maintenance of processes, standards, and procedures for consistent proposal execution.

Actively participate in the Return of Experience process, analyzing and implementing lessons learned.

Support Sales Manager in meeting proposal schedules and workflows efficiently.

Assist in coordinating resources for technical and commercial proposal development, ensuring compliance with Company standards and meeting customer needs.

Provide support to all departments as needed once a contract is awarded.


Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering.

Minimum three years' experience in a mechanical-related industry, specifically HRSG and boilers.

5 years of experience preferred in implementing capital goods projects, especially in the energy field.

Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical, electrical, and process drawings.

Technical orientation with knowledge of building machines and mechanical and thermal processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain and defend technical solutions and proposals in front of potential customers.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong and autonomous personality, able to work independently in a multinational environment and liaise with the team in Belgium.

Proven problem-solving skills.

Willingness to undertake temporary short-term assignments abroad.

Fluent in English; French is an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel (Spreadsheets, Charts/Graphs, Macros).
